Great Expectations

A new year, new goals.

I know it's a bit trite and most never fall through with their goals (myself included) but I still do them. I like to follow the Zig Ziglar advice--you can't reach a goal if you don't have a clear idea what it is.

So for 2009:

1. Start a new personal bible study--I think I am going to start with this one.

2. Attend at least three spin classes a week and do pilates at least three times a week.

3. Limit 'bad' carbs to only once every 10 meals. (This will no doubt be the toughest for this pasta lovin' mommy!)

4. Stick to the Dave Ramsey plan for the budget. (This entails so much I may need to do an entire post!)

5. Do one fun thing everyday.

6. Contact one friend daily--in person or phone.

7. Nightly family discussion before bedtime.

8. Add a new aspect my blog (and get a blog make-over!)

9. Reach out in new technology--I just joined twitter. (See my twitters on the right hand side and click follow to join me. If you twitter, let me know. I'd love to follow you too!)

And these are my 9 goals for the 2009. Are you planning anything special for this new year?

You picked Twitter? I deleted my account recently! I just love Plurk too much. And, let me know how the Ramsay budget goes. I'm truly interested. Also, if you need design help? Nap Warden's the bomb.

Great goals! I'm sure you will attain each one :) I got your Twitter email...I just joined Facebook?? Is that similar? I'm so bad at it...I don't think I've updated it but one time :( I'm gonna look into that personal Bible study you chose. I soooo need to make more time in my day to do one again. As for the exercising...man, I feel so bad and gross from all the sugar it's just wrong. WHYYYY do I do this to myself? Getting back into the routine is so hard! I'm gonna do it because I hate feeling this way. (As she opens yet another piece of caramel!) My friend got me a book by Tosca Reno...Clean Eating with kids. I LOVE IT!!! Thought of you when I opened it! Ever made yogurt cheese??? Ok, rambling, sorry...too much caramel! Good luck with all your goals my sweet friend!

You have some really thoughtful goals. And, I'd love to do the bible study along with you, if you are interested in a partner. It might just be exactly what I need. And Dave Ramsay? Well, he's good, I know, but I don't like the idea of carrying all my cash around in envelopes. I have a friend who swears by his practices and has 4-6 bulging envelopes in her purse to prove it. But not a credit card to her name. Uh, that's not for me. But, whatever works! And, girl, if you do that much exercise I think you could eat an extra bad carb every once in a while!! Good luck with the goals. You can do it!

I know that you can achieve all of those new year resolutions if you really want to Lisa. Good Luck!
If i stayed closer to you, i'd get fit along with you!
Now here is a question for you - How to you add twitter to your sidebar on your blog??
Hope you all had a great day!

My sister-in-law is on the Dave Ramsey bandwagon and it has been great for her family. I'm trying to get my husband on board so we can follow the plan ourselves.

Awesome list.

I'm bad at lists and sticking to them. However, I did make one...all of the bad stuff about 2008 and things I have been hanging onto that I need to let go of, and I took it out to the ocean on New Years eve and at the clock struck midnight, I burned it. It was so cathartic even if the temp was -15F. I'm glad I did it.

Now all I have to do is REMEMBER I did it. *lol* n

Lisa, thanks so much for your friendship in 2008. I'm looking forward to getting to know you better in 2009! Hope it's a great year for you.

Those are great goals. I'm terrible with resolutions, so I'm not making any this year. Goals does sound better, though.

I'm impressed with yours!
