Question for Northern Moms

Posting from phone, please excuse typos ;)

We are driving from Texas to Ohio and we are frozen! We are only in kentuckey and we seriously debated waiting almost two hours for pizza rather than going out and just getting it. Truly we step out just to get in the hotel and we are shivering for a good hour. How do y'all do it? Hats off to you because we cannot!

On a side note, the pizza rocked. I will be the first to admit Texas has nice winter weather but not so hot pizza ;)

hahaha

that is a great drive... ;-) {chuckle} ...been there

i've lived in the north most of my life...and the south, southwest and west... while the north gave me the most shivers of cold...it also holds such dear ones...makes the cold bearable...that's how I do it!

a few hours ago it was -3!

Great Northern Mom here, we just suck it up and/or complain about it :)

Have a great time!

Oh I'm sooo excited about hearing how "the big road trip of '08" goes!!! I am hearing ya!!! It was 11 degrees here in OK yesterday! I was thinking THE SAME THING yesterday. However, I think they are smart and buy really warm coats and stuff...me, I buy cute over warm. But usually...that works! ( We did go all for The Big 12 Championship game a couple of years ago--when we got SPANKED by K-State...I mean Darren Sproles :( ) Anyway...have a great trip, Merry Christmas and safe travels to your family! Your going to get a WHITE CHRISTMAS!! YAY!

You Did It! You're making the big trip!!! You'll have to give me your pointers when you get back... I have the big trip to St. Louis in late January. NOT looking forward to this. The baby cries every day just on the way to school! GAH!

And hey, what's going on with all the "links to post"? Did you put those on there? Cuz I didn't! Is Blogger going crazy again?

My brother-in-law comes to Ohio about ten times a year to visit, and he swears there is no place that has pizza as good as we do here.

As for the cold, I hate it. HATE it. But, more than that I hate the ever-present gray skies. I think I'm going to buy myself one of those happy lights. But, in one word...layers.

Here in MN over last weekend temperatures got to maybe -15F where I live with wind chills of -25 to -35. Nasty stuff! Yes, we wear very warm clothes, jackets, and nearly cuss as our nose hairs freeze. But we still go out...to an extent (I made it to a cookie exchange 'cause I needed the COOKIES for Christmas, for crying out loud!). Big heavy snow boots become a fashion statement. But, gotta love the snow we just got! It is beautiful!!! Nothing like a very nice, fluffy white Christmas! :) I have to admit, the cold is nuts at the temps we reached last weekend! I stay about 2 feet away from any outside walls or windows even while in the house 'cause you can feel the cold through the walls!
