Rude @ssholes do exist, even in Texas

After dropping off 3/4 of the kids at school this morning, I brought Spanky out to the car and noticed a dad getting out of his car to bring in his daughter. Now usually, I would have not have given him a second look but he was wearing this white belt with really weird '80s style 'rips' in the leather. Now white belts, rips or no rips are not the most appropriate attire for older males taking their kids to school--heck, I'll say white belts are not appropriate for any males.

He said in a very loud voice and with a huge smile,  "Hi Lisa, how are you doing?"

I was taken aback--I did not know, at least I didn't think I knew him and I quickly felt guilty for mocking his attire choice in my mind.

I flashed my biggest smile. "I'm great! How are you today?"

His smile turned to disgust and his tone from friendly to plain ugly. "I wasn't talking to you. I was talking to another Lisa." (Yes, he totally emphasized the YOU--I am sure every person in the parking lot heard that YOU.)

And he turned to get his daughter's backpack before approaching another mom, apparently the Lisa.

I looked down, picked up my pace and scurried to the car. But in my mind I totally told him off and made him cry, but not in front of his kid. My inner b!tch has limits ;)

That is crazy. I would have taken off that ugly white belt and whipped him with it. Just kidding.

You totally should've said something. Like, "Nice clothes, jerkwad."

People like this make me fume! I totally need to get over it (it's obviously a reflection of THEIR bad manners, and not of me) but it's so hard not to take it personally. I probably would'be turned to the OTHER Lisa and asked, "Are you really friends with this asshole?"

AAAAAAAAHHH!!! what a JERK! I was born and raised in DAllas- so generally speaking I LOVE Texas, and I'm loyal to my state. HOWEVER- I accidently bumped into a truck with my car when I was in college- and the @@@HOLE cowboy who got out of the truck had a t-shirt on that said, "If you don't like to Rodeo, then BUCK OFF."...and he griped me out before realizing his truck never had a scratch. Silly people.

How rude! I'm with you...no male should wear a white belt! Back in July, Connor went to a golf camp and his instructor's girlfriend must've told him she liked his white belt...because he had it on EVERY SINGLE DAY! ICK! I'm sorry about that rude man!

Some people are unbelievable. At least you were the bigger person, I don't think I could have.

my response-
"Oh, sorry. YOu looked a lot like my Grandpa. Thought it could be him."

hee hee

Or, "oh sorry. My husband's a parole officer and you look JUST like one of his clients."

I think I would have wanted to tell him off too. So sorry you had to endure such a hideous belt and a rude man too!

OMG I would have totally been mortified -- what a rude @sshole indeed.

Awww...that is terrible! I'm with Amanda - you know everyone was laughing at the belt - take solace in the fact in him being loud and noticable, everyone was able to get a glimpse of the HOT outfit!

Oh no, poor you.

Mortifying.

What's the deal with the belt. Sounds so Duran Duran from back in the day.

Jeez, bad fashion sense and rude to boot. I pity his wife or significant other, assuming he has one. You should have commented. Although, I tend to bite my tongue at the school. However, that's mostly because of being the PTA president there I can see the headlines everytime I have the urge to tell off some rude parent. It's bad enough when my husband is with me and he starts stuff I usually want to crawl into a hole. He doesn't get that I have to see these people on a daily basis.

Ugh, what a JERK! I hate rude people.

You know what would have been really funny...if you stopped and said, "Oh, how could I have thought I knew someone who wear THAT for an outfit. Silly me!"

I hope you don't run into him again....but if you do I can't wait for that post!

you just tell him, 1980 called they want their belt back. Lame.

I would have felt the same way.

this is why i think that taking your kids to school is like going back to Jr High...

I would have said, "I wasn't talking to YOU, I don't talk to losers in gay white belts."

Unknown said...

Did you say a WHITE belt? Good thing it's before Labor Day! ; )

Oh, how terrible! He could have at least laughed with you about the mistake made instead of making you feel like a heel. I would have said something about child molestor's having to stay away from schools...(sorry, that's what the 80's style makes me think of...). Happy POW!

What an absolute creep.

You are definitely the better person for not taking him to task right there in the parking lot, but damn.

He'll get his. You should probably just pity him, I mean he obviously thinks he's the peak of fashion ;-) LOL.
