So I do this just about every weekday at five

I prep dinner and I turn on Malcolm in the Middle. I'm not sure how it started. I always thought the show was funny but not funny enough to watch like everyday.

Yet after dealing with fighting, whining, boo-boos, feeding starving children and keeping the home from being condemned by the Board of Health, the 3o minutes get me through the day. It's gotten to the point if we are out around 4:15, I start getting everyone ready to go home so I can catch my show--even though I am pretty sure I have seen every single episode twice now.

And then when it's over, I get that second wind. Like I handle the next few hours til bed time. It's my Malcolm in the Middle Magic.

So I'm wondering if I am alone here. Do any of you moms reach the end of your rope around 5 everyday? If so, what do you do when you need to wind down?

And if you need a quick break from it all. Watch this. Now. Seriously.

And whine.

Hilarious clip.

I agree just jamie!
It just seems that the kids can be well behaved all day and it gets to 5pm and they all start misbehaving till bedtime. Is it the same in America?! haha!

There's a reason they call it the witching hour.

I think I've seen every episode of Malcolm at least 4 times--and they're still funny.

I agree with Jenn.

I use Baby Einstein World Animals to lull my 20 month old for the length of the dvd so I can get dinner made. A show for me during the witching hour, highly impossible.

For me it's not so much what I watch but what my kids watch. Arthur comes on at 4pm, then there's playtime and clean up your room time, then Fetch with Ruff Ruffman comes on at 5pm. If my kids could watch only one show each day it would be Arthur. I admit, though, sometimes I get sucked in too. C'mon... you can admit it too. It's a great show!!

I'm really NOT fifty, but it use to be Wheel-of-Fortune. I could relax, use my brain a little and not feel guilty if my son watched it with me.

That was hilarious.

Wow, you make it until 5 before getting weary? I usually start having a hard time when nap time is over. :)

Jenn @ Juggling Life....we call it the witching hour as well! LISA...YOU ARE NOT ALONE MY DEAR FRIEND! It's crazy isn't it! Wish there was some place we could send them right around, oh, let's say 4:55. Oh, yes, that would be Grandma and Grandpa's house! I don't think I've ever seen Malcom in the Middle..you know I'm gonna check it out now!

The bumper sticker is the best part of that video.

I found it a little funny that sweet Josh Grobin was playing on your music while I was watching that clip.

And yes, 5 is about the time I reach my limit too. Thank God for cocktails. I need to start watching that show...

Lol! I love that show...
I have some wine. Not every nite...just after the bad days!
And I will sometimes read, talk to my mom, sister or husband...just anything to get my mind off my day :)

haha...that was the best clip ever from that show. She did exactly what EVERY mom feels like doing at some point. So funny!

5 til bedtime is so hard.

I found a solution. I go to work 5-7 and the husband gets our angels for dinner, bath and bed!
